Nelly Dixon
Nelly A. Dixon has been a special education teacher for the past decade. As both a parent of a teenager with autism and an experienced teacher for students with autism and other disabilities, she has a wealth of personal and practical knowledge from which to draw from. Currently, Nelly is a clinical autism consultant for her county's Special Services School District. She is also an adjunct professor in the School of Education at one of New Jersey's private universities where she teaches graduate level couses in special education. Her professional interests include supporting beginning special education teachers through effective mentoring and induction practices. Nelly has earned her Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership with a specialization in special education.
Personally, Nelly enjoys spending time with her family. Hobbies include music, cooking, writing, and watching a few reality television shows. She also enjoys spending time in the Finger Lakes region of New York State with hopes to eventually relocate.
